I used to be able to simply open the "Run" box and type in "\\computername\sharename" to browse the contents of other machines, but recently this has stopped working. Saved me lots of trouble. In particular, Event ID: 8003 indicates “Master Browser” error (see Extended Troubleshooting) Service Control Manager – May indicate Browser error.
