Upon searching the system it turns out that a libcairo.so.1 was not installed in /usr/lib (but there's a libcairo.so.2...). I do know that Redhat has different versions of the OS and their are different ways to install it. I'm using Ubuntu, java 5, and eclipse 3.1.
