Unable To Load Failsafe Session Xfce
Is the form "double Dutch" still used? It turned out my user's $XDG_CONFIG_HOME variable was set to /home/root/.config, which was wrong, obviously. Installed xfce pattern as described in the solution (and didn't need to remove anything first) 9. Didn't work because xfce not installed 6. http://blacklex.com/unable-to/unable-to-load-failsafe-session.html
If I log normally into the system with the user account and startxfce4, it works fine. Make sure everything in my home directory has correct permissions: sudo chown -R $USER $HOME 3. dbus is installed and the user is in the dbus group.
