You can change this preference below. Both the computers belong to the homenetwork group. Also, you can type "net use" on the command line to see if the drive is mapped there or not. When I select see details on the error pop up, I see: Error code: 0x80004005 (google doesn't help much) I can nbtstat -a the machine who has the shared folder.
